|The Nintendo GameCube ROMs was a beloved console when it was released in 2001. Unfortunately, it was discontinued in 2007. However, that doesn't mean you can't play your favorite GameCube games today! With a little bit of effort, you can download GameCube ROMs and run them on a GameCube emulator. Here's how:
What You'll Need
In order to play GameCube games on your modern phone or gaming system, you'll need a few things:
- A copy of the game ROM. You can find these online; just make sure to download one that has the same extension as the system you want to play it on.
- A GameCube emulator. There are many options available; we recommend Dolphin Emulator.
- A compatible controller. You can use a Wii remote, a Wii U Pro Controller, or even an Xbox 360 controller with the right adapter.
Once you have all of these things, you're ready to get started!
Step One: Install the Emulator
The first step is to install the emulator onto your phone or gaming system. Once it's installed, open it up and select "Config." From here, you can change the settings to match your preferences.
Step Two: Download Your Game ROMs
Next, you'll need to obtain copies of your favorite games. As we mentioned before, you can find these online; just make sure that they have the same extension as the system you're using. Once you have them downloaded, open up the emulator and select "Open." From here, navigate to where you saved your game files and select the one you want to play. The game should now be up and running!
Step Three: Connect Your Controller
If you're using a Wii remote or Wii U Pro Controller, simply sync it up with your system according to its instructions. If you're using an Xbox 360 controller, you'll need an adapter like this one. Once it's plugged in, press any button on the controller to connect it; your game should now be controlled with the Xbox 360 controller!
Playing your favorite GameCube games doesn't have to be complicated or expensive—all you need is a copy of the game ROM, a compatible controller, and a free emulator like Dolphin Emulator. With just a few clicks, you can be transported back to childhood and enjoy all of the classics that made the GameCube such a special console.
