The following software test can also be tried if your printer is older and you use MS-DOS, Windows 3.x, Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT.
Launch Windows' command prompt. To know more also read this printer repair service in New Mexico.
Entering the command "cd" will take you to the root directory.
After entering dir > lpt1, redirect dir to the printer.
The directory listing should be printed using the aforementioned command. Consult your operating system's troubleshooting guide if this won't print.
